Throughout the 5-year architectural education journey, Ooi Wei has grown a lot as a student, as well as a member of the society. With people as the main concern, Ooi Wei has emphasised the relationship between human and space in her designs to amplify the sense of belonging to a place. She strongly believes that a well-designed place is one that not only provides what the people need, but also allows them to grow within it.

Ooi Wei is an all-rounder and a highly motivated enthusiast especially in the arts and creative field. In her free time, she enjoys a wide variety of activities including performing arts and cultural exchange. Besides having strong interest in discovering stories of places and cultures, she is also passionate in sharing the history and cultures of her hometown with people from other parts of the world.

Ooi Wei spent a few months exploring some other parts of the world after her graduation from Bachelor's Degree. She volunteered as an assistant teacher in an English Learning Centre in Poland. She enjoyed learning different languages and cultures from that region during her two months' stay, as much as sharing stories from her home country to the locals and other participants.
Born and raised in Penang, Ooi Wei's love of her hometown has driven her to take part in different cultural activities including urban sketching. Sharing the same passion, Ooi Wei and her friend Poh Yin started to conduct an Airbnb Experience during pre-Covid times, bringing tourists around George Town for Sketching Tours, explaining the history and the unique architecture of this UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Music has always been Ooi Wei's passion since a very young age. She was the president and the conductor of her high school choir, took part in choir competitions as a member as well as an assistant coach. She is now an active member of the Penang Philharmonic Chorus.
